The son of Reuel Walter Grierson Jr., & his wife, Joyce Plumier. He was proud of his Scottish Heritage being descended from an ancient baronial family dating back to c. 1325.

The son of Reuel Walter Grierson Jr., & his wife, Joyce Plumier. He was proud of his Scottish Heritage being descended from an ancient baronial family dating back to c. 1325.
His tragic death occurred when his parachute failed to open during a routine sky diving tour off Mount Kilimanjaro, - Kilimanjaro region, North East Tanzania, East Africa within the African Great Lakes Region.
His body was repatriated back to the United States. David attended the Brownsville Elementary School, & the Brownsville Middle School, Pensacola High School, & B. T. WASHINGTON High School, all in Florida & finally while working on off shore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, he finished his high school diploma at The University of Downtown College in Houston, Texas.
He attended for two years the Charles County Community College in Southern MARYLAND. Grierson served in the U. S. Navy from July 1981- September 1990, as Petty Officer ; he served on board the U.S.S. Dwight David Eisenhower CVN-69 a nuclear Nitmitz Class Carrier, while stationed at HS-5, for three years as a maintenance technician, a plane captain , & an L.S.E. out of Norfolk, Virginia & served at HS-1 in Jax NAS, & finally PAX River Naval Air Test Center in Maryland, now called The Naval Air Warfare Center.
He was a life time member of the DAV.
He was also a member of the LPUMC for over 10 years.
David was world traveled, spending the better part of his life in foreign countries, to name a few, Israel, Spain, Italy, France, Scotland, Ireland, England, Bahamas, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Hong Kong, China, and others.
His body was interred at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
He is survived by three brothers, two sisters, one daughter, a granddaughter nieces & nephews, cousins, far & near and will be sadly missed.
