He leaves behind his mother,... see moreJames Wesley Wilkerson, age 59, passed away on January 2, 2020 after an illness of cancer. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. Preceded in death is his father, Norman Wilkerson. He leaves behind his mother, Eleanor Wilkerson, 3 children, James Wesley Wilkerson, Jr., Kristin Marie Wilkerson, and Christy Nicole Wilkerson, 2 grandchildren Kaylin Marie Wilkerson and Kobie Quinton Fuerst, 3 sisters, Teresa Griggs ( Doug Griggs), Dianne Clayton (Michael Clayton), and Renee' McGee (David McGee), 8 nieces and nephews, and 4 great nieces and nephews. James was an avid fan of The University of Memphis basketball and football teams.He was a strong supporter of The United States Navy. In a private ceremony, he will be buried at sea under the leadership of his son, Navy Chief Petty Officer, James Wilkerson, Jr.
